Este es un recorrido emocionante que te llevará directamente al corazón del país de los tigres en un safari de 9 días que combina dos de las mejores reservas de tigres de la India, Pench y Kanha
Volamos a sólo 2 horas del primer parque nacional, ofreciendo una inmersión en la naturaleza india evitando grandes ciudades, grandes multitudes y largos viajes en tren por el interior del país. 
De hecho, en este recorrido, más que en cualquier otro, maximizamos el tiempo que pasamos en los maravillosos parques nacionales de la India y reservas de tigres y minimizamos el tiempo dedicado a viajar, en particular el tiempo dedicado a atravesar las inmensas urbes de la India.

ITINITINERARY OVERVIEW:
Day 1 - Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and visit Sugarloaf Peak

Morning arrival in Rio de Janeiro, where we will be met by a private English speaking driver guide

and taken to our hotel in the city. We will have a guaranteed early check-in to ensure we can check-
in right away and rest before our afternoon tour.

Walking tour of Sugarloaf: This is the easiest and most famous track in Rio de Janeiro. It’s safe and
impossible to get lost. We start the tour going by car to Praia Vermelha in Urca neighborhood, which
is the beach where the cable car station to the Sugar Loaf is located. From there, walking, we'll take
the track Claudio Coutinho also known as Caminho Bem Te Vi, which is 1250 meters. The hike takes
45 minutes at most going up slowly; it is great to enjoy the woods, its sounds and animals like
marmosets and numerous birds. At the end of it, we'll take the cable car to the Sugar Loaf. The
descent will also be done via cable car and finally we return to the vehicle towards the hotel.

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro to Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu

Breakfast at your hotel
After breakfast, we will transfer to the Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu (Guapiaçu Ecological
Reserve). REGUA has an extensive network of trails leading to some of the best preserved parts of
the Atlantic Forest, passing through restored floodplains to rivers and waterfalls that were untouched
until a few years ago. All trails offer magnificent birdwatching opportunities and this area is one of
the easiest places in the Atlantic Forest to see a large number of bird species. We begin by making
the roughly 2-hour drive from Rio de Janeiro. Upon our arrival, we will be met by a local guide,
specialized in birdwatching and familiar with the trails. Together we will assess which are the best
trails to explore, according to the local conditions.

Day 3 - Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu to Rio de Janeiro

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro to North Pantanal via Cuiabá

Breakfast at your hotel
At the appropriate time, according to our flight schedule, we will be met by a private English speaking
driver guide and transferred to the airport for our flight to our next destination.
Transfer by car to Pousada do Rio Mutum approximately 3 hours route passing through the small
town of Santo Antonio do Leverger and the villages of Porto de Fora, and Mimoso. On the way to
the lodge, it will be possible to spot birds, small animals, landscapes, and typical buildings from
Pantanal native people.
Transfer with driver only (Portuguese speaking) included.

Day 5 - Tours around Pousada do Rio Mutum, North Pantanal

Breakfast at your hotel.
After breakfast, we will go on an ecological walk for approximately 2 hours to explore the natural
environment. We will pass through wood areas, forests, and open fields in search of birds, mammals,
reptiles, plants and other components of the Pantanal ecosystem. We will return to the lodge for
lunch.
In the afternoon, we will go on a boat ride along the Mutum River for approximately 3 hours. In
addition to the beautiful vegetation that lines the river, these transparent waters are also home to
giant otters (Pteronura brasiliensis), rays (lymma Taeniura), and shoals of small fish. Thanks to this
rich water and vegetation, these riverbanks are home to various bird species. After the boat ride, we
will return to the lodge for dinner.
After dinner, we will take a night spotlighting tour by jeep or boat for approximately 2 hours, exploring
the surroundings in search of nocturnal creatures and to contemplate of the wetland environment.

Day 6 - Tours around Pousada Rio Mutum, North Pantanal

Breakfast at your hotel
After breakfast we will go on a horseback ride for about 3 hours to a typical farm on the border of
Sia Mariana Bay. This path is excellent for observing the local flora and fauna throughout the year,
you will be surprised by the diversity of species, especially bird species. We will return to the loge
froo lunch.
In the afternoon we will take another boat ride for about 3 hours down the Mutum River up the Sia
Mariana bay (8 km extension in the North / South direction). During this tour we will explore the
banks of the bay and the channel connecting both bays the Sia Mariana bay and Chacororé bay.
Throughout the year, different species of birds, reptiles, and other animals can be observed (during
the the rain season the Chacororé bay can exceeds 15 km in length in open area). We will stop at
sunset and fish for piranhas. On the way back to the lodge, we will take a flashlight in search for
animals. We will return to the lodge for dinner.
* Piranha fishing occurs in the months of March to October. In the period from November 1 to
February 28, it is prohibited to fish in rivers, lakes and bays of Mato Grosso, because it is the period
of breeding fish (Piracema). (Full board)

Day 7 - North Pantanal to Chapada dos Guimarães

Our day begins at 4:30 a.m. with a sunrise paddling tour in canoes for about 1 hour and 30 minutes,
to appreciate the dazzling spectacle of the awakening of nature in the Pantanal. Next, we will return
to the lodge for breakfast followed by checkout.

Next, we will transfer to the tablelands of Chapada dos Guimarães park for our next adventure. The
total travel time is approximately 3 hours. The drive to Chapada dos Guimarães takes us past cliffs
to the to the Geodesical Center of the South American Continent. With some luck we may see or at
least hear the red & green macaws that nest on those sand walls. Here, we will stop for lunch. After
lunch, on our way to our accommodations, we will stop at the historical centre of Chapada dos
Guimarães city, with its charming Barroca architecture and first MT church.
The natural grandeur of the Chapada dos Guimarães justified the creation in 1989 of the National
Park that bears its name. Conservation and its surrounding area are the largest sandstone cave in
Brazil, waterfalls as the flagship Bridal Veil, a profusion of orange stone walls and beautiful rivers.
Scenic beauty in a variety of environments, and the contemplation of different species of flora and
fauna of the Cerrado are some of the attractions of the National Park (Parna) Chapada dos
Guimarães. In addition to being marked by the relief diversity, the park is part of the Upper Paraguay
River Basin, protecting headwaters of the Cuiabá River, one of the main tributaries of the Pantanal.

Day 8 - Chapada dos Guimarães

Day at leisure in Chapada dos Guimarães.
Pousada do Parque offers various self-guided trails to allow visitors direct contact with nature. The
trails vary from easy and medium difficult level trails. They take you to the observation tower (550m
distance), seasonal waterfall from December to July (380m distance), sandstone formations (450m
distance), arqueologic site with rock paintings (1,3 Km distance), in addition to the primary woods
trails (1,5 Km distance) with old large trees and endemic vegetation. Moreover, the lodge has
catalogued local bird species found in the area, a highlight for many visitors.

Day 9 - Chapada dos Guimarães to Bom Jardim and visit to Lagoa das Araras

We will enjoy breakfast at Pousada do Parque and then have the morning at leisure before check-
out. At this time, we will be met by a private English speaking driver guide and taken to Bom Jardim,

Nobres. The total driving time is approximately 2 hours. We will stop for lunch along the way (not
included).
Upon arrival in Bom Jardim, we will visit Lagoa das Araras; a beautiful lagoon with surrounding
vegetation mainly consisting of Buriti (Mauritia flexuosa) trees located in an area of transition
between the Cerrado and Amazon biomes, and home to various birds from the region, including
macaws, parrots, parakeets, and herons, among others. Buriti trees lose their crowns when they die,
thereby leaving hollow stems that form the perfect habitats for these birds to set up their nests and
breed. The reflection of the sky in the water makes the landscape even more spectacular. Late
afternoon, at sunset, flocks of birds return to their nests in the buriti trees, creating a delightful
spectacle. To reach the lagoon, we first driver to the center of the Vila of Bom Jardim, then we walk
a short, 200 meter, trail to a wooden observation deck, from where we can enjoy the spectacle along
with a beautiful sunset.
After this, we continue to our accommodations for the night, located in another part of the
municipality, just a short (15-20 minute) drive away.

Day 10 - Floatation down the Salobra River and transfer to Cuiabá

Breakfast at your hotel

After breakfast, we will explore the Salobra River from its birth, right on the property of our
accommodations. Here, over 600 springs (resurgences). We will begin the activity by walking along
a short, 300 m, trail through the forest until we reach the crystaline river. From there, we will enter
with specialized floatation vests and snorkels and float 1 km downstream, appreciating the fish and
vegetation along the way. At the end of the river, we will walk back the the lodge along the trail that
follows most of the resurgences. Along the way, we may come across animals such as agoutis,
pacas, monkeys, anteaters, armadillos, ocelots and other species.
After this activity, we will enjoy a nice lunch on site, before checking out and then driving back to
Cuiabá. The total driving time to Cuiabá is approximately 2 hours.
Upon arrival in Cuiabá, we will check into our hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 11 - Cuiabá to Cristalino Lodge, Southern Amazon

After breakfast, we will be met by a private transfer and taken to the airport in Cuiabá for our flight
to Alta Floresta.
Transfer from Alta Floresta airport to Cristalino Jungle Lodge - 1h:30min.
Airport arrival in Alta Floresta, where we will be met by a shared transfer and taken to an exclusive
lodge, located in a private reserve in the southern part of the Brazilian Amazon. Here, we will be
surrounded by forest and the banks of the Cristalino River as we find ourselves in the best possible
space to feel comfortable and calm when we return from our daily adventure activities.
This area and lodge are especially popular among bird lovers and specialized birding guides are
available upon request. During these days, we will be invited every morning and evening by the
expert guides at the lodge to take part in different activities, such as canoeing, walks on trails, visits
to the observation towers, wildlife observation and boat trips. Sometimes it will be possible to
combine more than one activity on a single excursion, such as trails and canoeing. Other times, you
have to walk on the trails to reach an attraction, such as the observation towers. Many roads are
only accessible after a boat ride. The activities that we will carry out will be combined between the
guide and the group of adventurers, with the objective of increasing the possibilities of observing the
wild life.

Day 12 - Cristalino Lodge, Southern Amazon

Today we will have a full day to experience the incredibly rich flora and fauna surrounding the lodge.
Among the activities we can take part in are canoeing the calm currents of the Cristalino River,
enjoying the silence and keeping a lookout for various species of birds and monkeys, such as
crowned heron, tiger heron, kingfisher and spider monkeys.
We will also have a chance to explore the various trails surrounding the lodge. Hiking activities
provide a better understanding of the tropical ecosystem. The trails cross different types of
vegetation, such as forest land (non-flooding evergreen forest), wetland forest, tropical campinarana,
and highlands where the deciduous forest predominates, with bare branches and beautiful
bromeliads in bloom during certain times of the year.
For a truly unique experience of the Amazon, we can’t miss a visit to the observation towers. Since
the trees in the region are very tall, with emerging species that reach more than 45 meters, the
towers provide an excellent platform to observe the birds that inhabit the canopy of the forest, such
as tanagers, charlatans, macaws, parrots, toucans and aracaris. As there are platforms in different
levels of forest, we can appreciate the different layers, as well as enjoy spectacular views from above
the canopy, with an endless green sea that extends under our feet.

Day 13 - Cristalino Lodge, Southern Amazon

Boat trips, with the assistance of our experienced guides, are a fundamental part of the visit. Many
of the trails can only be accessed by boat, and on the trip we will have the opportunity to observe
the wildlife along the rivers. One of the trips includes a visit to the Teles Pires River to enjoy the
sunset. The meeting of the waters of Teles Pires with those of the Cristalino River is a fascinating
mixture of their light and dark tones.

Airport arrival in Alta Floresta, where we will be met by a shared transfer and taken to an exclusive
lodge, located in a private reserve in the southern part of the Brazilian Amazon. Here, we will be
surrounded by forest and the banks of the Cristalino River as we find ourselves in the best possible
space to feel comfortable and calm when we return from our daily adventure activities.
This area and lodge are especially popular among bird lovers and specialized birding guides are
available upon request. During these days, we will be invited every morning and evening by the
expert guides at the lodge to take part in different activities, such as canoeing, walks on trails, visits
to the observation towers, wildlife observation and boat trips. Sometimes it will be possible to
combine more than one activity on a single excursion, such as trails and canoeing. Other times, you
have to walk on the trails to reach an attraction, such as the observation towers. Many roads are
only accessible after a boat ride. The activities that we will carry out will be combined between the
guide and the group of adventurers, with the objective of increasing the possibilities of observing the
wild life.

Day 12 - Cristalino Lodge, Southern Amazon

Today we will have a full day to experience the incredibly rich flora and fauna surrounding the lodge.
Among the activities we can take part in are canoeing the calm currents of the Cristalino River,
enjoying the silence and keeping a lookout for various species of birds and monkeys, such as
crowned heron, tiger heron, kingfisher and spider monkeys.
We will also have a chance to explore the various trails surrounding the lodge. Hiking activities
provide a better understanding of the tropical ecosystem. The trails cross different types of
vegetation, such as forest land (non-flooding evergreen forest), wetland forest, tropical campinarana,
and highlands where the deciduous forest predominates, with bare branches and beautiful
bromeliads in bloom during certain times of the year.
For a truly unique experience of the Amazon, we can’t miss a visit to the observation towers. Since
the trees in the region are very tall, with emerging species that reach more than 45 meters, the
towers provide an excellent platform to observe the birds that inhabit the canopy of the forest, such
as tanagers, charlatans, macaws, parrots, toucans and aracaris. As there are platforms in different
levels of forest, we can appreciate the different layers, as well as enjoy spectacular views from above
the canopy, with an endless green sea that extends under our feet.

Day 13 - Cristalino Lodge, Southern Amazon

Boat trips, with the assistance of our experienced guides, are a fundamental part of the visit. Many
of the trails can only be accessed by boat, and on the trip we will have the opportunity to observe
the wildlife along the rivers. One of the trips includes a visit to the Teles Pires River to enjoy the
sunset. The meeting of the waters of Teles Pires with those of the Cristalino River is a fascinating
mixture of their light and dark tones.

We have breakfast at the lodge and leave for Alta Floresta airport to fly to our next destination.

Este es un recorrido de observación de mamíferos y aves, que se basa principalmente en safaris por la mañana y por la tarde/noche. (estilo safari africano) en jeeps descapotables; en consecuencia la caminata se limita a pasear por los terrenos de los alojamientos en los que nos hospedamos y el recorrido tiene una calificación A (fácil). En estas vacaciones nos centramos en los estudios de dos parques nacionales (ambos
entre los mejores para avistar tigres!), y minimizar el cansancio que comporta un viaje de avistamiento de fauna.

Clima
Las temperaturas en los parques nacionales del centro y norte de la India varían mucho según la hora y el día y temporada. El Jaguar
El tigre de Bengala (Panthera tigris tigris), también conocido como tigre de Bengala real o tigre indio, es una subespecie de tigre que habita en la India, Nepal, Bangladés, Bután, Birmania y Tíbet.
En 2017 un equipo de investigadores pertenecientes a la UICN publicó una nueva clasificación taxonómica de la familia felidae en la que solo reconocía dos subespecies de tigres, el tigre de Asia continental (Panthera tigris tigris), que agrupa al tigre de Bengala, siberiano, de Indochina, sur de China, malayo, así como el tigre extinto del Caspio y los tigres de la sonda (Panthera tigris sondaica) que agrupa al tigre de Sumatra así como a los ya desaparecidos tigres de Java y Bali. 


La Capibara
El oso bezudo, labiado o perezoso, presenta un conjunto de características poco comunes que lo diferencian fácilmente de otras especies de úrsidos, entre las que se encuentra una amplia capa de pelo largo, lacio y negro (con la excepción de una banda de pelo blanco en forma de "V" en el pecho), un hocico elongado con una nariz y labios muy prominentes y móviles, y unos pies curvados hacia dentro, rematados por largas uñas más útiles para cavar que para atrapar y desgarrar animales. Estos elementos son tan raros que cuando los zoólogos europeos recogieron las primeras descripciones y pieles de manos de los hindúes, pensaron inicialmente que se encontraban ante algún tipo de perezoso o algún otro insectívoro emparentado.
El parecido con los perezosos no termina ahí. Al igual que ellos, el oso labiado también es extremadamente lento cuando se desplaza ) y puede trepar a los árboles. .

Barasinga
El ciervo de barasinga o ciervo de los pantanos (Rucervus duvaucelii) es una especie de mamífero artiodáctilo de la familia Cervidae autóctona de la India y Nepal.3​ Últimamente se debate la posibilidad de cambiar el género de este cérvido a Rucervus, anteriormente usado como subgénero, separándolo del ciervo común.
Nomenclatura: La palabra barasingha viene del hindi, de los términos barah (doce) y sig (cuerno), significando doce cuernos.
Su nombre científico proviene del latín cervus (ciervo) y duvaucelii en honor a Alfred Duvaucel (1796-1824), un naturalista francés
